Update – Reminder Heading Into Phase 3 for Reopen Illinois Plan
As the weather gets warmer heading into Governor Prtizker’s Phase 3 of his “Reopen Illinois Plan”, it is important to remember that outdoor playgrounds and facilities continue to be closed to the public. The district continues to monitor information and waits for additional guidance from the Governor, CDC, and Illinois Department of Public Health. But because social distancing and restrictions on groups larger than 10 will remain in place for the foreseeable future, numerous important decisions continue to be made. As a result, the following closures and restrictions will stay in place as we continue to focus on safety, security, and sanitation for park users and staff.
- Outdoor playgrounds and facilities continue to be closed to the public. This also includes tennis courts, basketball courts, Sunny Hill Splash Pad, Sunny Hill Skate Park, and ALL athletic fields. Park playgrounds and amenities are not being sanitized and as mentioned, remain closed.
- Sunny Hill and Shady Oaks Disc Golf courts are open, as long as social distancing guidelines are followed.
- When we are able to safely reopen, the focus will be on programs and offerings that best meet the community’s needs, including day camps, adult fitness, and use of the parks. As soon as it’s safe and reasonable to do so, additional programming will be offered. Updates will be posted to www.StreamwoodParks.org and Park District Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media outlets@StreamwoodParks related to closure status and programming.
- No picnic, facility, or field rentals are being taken or allowed for June.
- All community & special events through the end of June have been canceled.
- Parks and trails remain open for walking, jogging, and biking as long as current social distancing guidelines are being followed.
- A Virtual Program Guide will continue to be available online only, with programming being updated regularly.
For tips on social distancing, please visit our link here.
The situation with the COVID-19 pandemic remains fluid. We continue to monitor the local, state, and national responses closely, and will follow the recommendations put forth by health officials.

Aktualizacja – przypomnienie w fazie 3 dotyczące ponownego otwarcia planu Illinois
