The Illinois Department of Public Health and the CDC are now recommending individuals to wear masks indoors if the level of community transmission is at a SUBSTANTIAL or HIGH level.  This includes even fully vaccinated people.  At this time Cook County has been categorized as SUBSTANTIAL in transmission level.

The Streamwood Park District will follow both the IDPH and CDC guidelines in recommending individuals to wear a mask indoors.  Those visiting our facilities for any reason will be asked to wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status.  Those using the fitness center or aquatic center will not need to wear a mask while on a workout machine or in the pool.  However, we ask them to be worn while traveling between machines.  We also ask that all those in attendance of outdoor events be respectful of those around them and practice physical distancing.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during these challenging times.

If you have any questions regarding the updated mask guidelines, please contact Superintendent of Recreation Steve Muenz at smuenz@spdcares.com.
