COLOR FUN RUN

2022 EVENT INFO COMING SOON

The Color FUN Run is more about making memories and having fun than worrying about your mile time. Whether you run, walk, or dance across the finish line, participants can celebrate completing the
Happiest 5k in the area.

The Color FUN Run is an environment where everyone feels comfortable getting active, no matter their age or ability level. Whether you’re young or old, you’ll feel at home. So come with your friends, neighbors, family, and loved ones. Everyone is welcome!

IS THIS COLOR POWDER SAFE?

ABSOLUTELY! The color powder is food-grade quality cornstarch that is biodegradable, non-toxic, and 100% safe.

Volunteers will be located at color stations with bulk buckets of color. Each color station will feature a new color. As runners pass, the volunteers will toss the color. If you are pregnant, or experience asthma, consulting your doctor before running is strongly encouraged. Some people will wear a bandana over their face to inhibit any additional dust in their face. There are paths that allow you to avoid color if you wish.

PHOTO OPS

Start your morning by snapping a pre-race pic in your clean clothes, and get another photo after the race, once you’re covered in color. The before-and-after comparison is one of our favorite things we get to see on our Instagram feed! Share your photos with us on social media (@StreamwoodParks) using hashtags #spdcares and #getsomecolor.

HOW DO I NOT GET THIS STUFF IN MY HAIR, EYES, AND IN MY CAR?

At each checkpoint along the course, volunteers will be standing by to douse you in a different colored powder. If you plan on getting messy, a bandana and sunglasses will help you keep the powder out of your nose, mouth, and eyes.

We highly recommend cleaning up with baby wipes before leaving the race. Bring old towels or beach towels to throw down on the seats of the car before heading out for the day.

WAIT...WHAT DO I DO WITH MY CELL PHONE?

Of course, you’ll want to capture the color throws in all their glory. We get it. But since you can’t throw your phone in the wash after the race, keep it in a baggie to protect it from the powder.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

This race will happen rain or shine! The run committee monitors the weather and follows the proper protocol in place regarding inclement weather including but not limited to thunderstorms, tornadoes, and heat. The run committee holds the right to cancel, alter, or postpone the event in the interest of the runner, volunteer, and staff safety. Registration is non-refundable. The Streamwood Park District is not responsible for damage made to any cameras, cell phones, or clothing.
