NOW HIRING FOR SUMMER DAY CAMP, LIFEGUARDS/SWIM INSTRUCTORS, AND PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS

The Streamwood Park District is currently hiring for positions of Summer Day Camp Director, Summer Day Camp Counselor, Parks Maintenance, and Lifeguards and Swim Instructors, and people interested in making a difference in the community are encouraged to apply!

SUMMER CAMP DIRECTOR

The Day Camp Director is responsible for the direct supervision of the Day Camp Counselors, on-site administrative duties, and assisting in leading activities for the campers. Camp hours range from 9a – 3:15p, with 45 additional minutes allotted for planning, clean-up, and meetings. Camp days are Monday-Friday, during the summer months. This is an at-will position.

SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR

The counselor is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading activities for their group of campers. Day Camp Counselors will work up to six (6.0) hours per day, Monday-Friday, during the summer months, not to exceed 29 hours per week if working part-time.  This is an at-will position.

LIFEGUARDS AND SWIM INSTRUCTORS

Under the direction and supervisor of the Pool Manager, Lifeguard & Swim Instructors are responsible for watching their assigned zone according to the 10/20 rule of protection. Lifeguard & Swim Instructors are responsible for keeping their rescue skills at test-ready levels at all times on duty. Lifeguard & Swim Instructors are also responsible for organizing and teaching swimming classes to children of various ages.  This is a part-time position that will work no more than 19 hours per week with hours available 7 days per week. This is an at-will position.

PART-TIME/SEASONAL PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS

Under the direction and supervision of the Parks Supervisors, the Park Maintenance Worker I is responsible for performing a variety of park maintenance tasks, including turf maintenance, landscape maintenance, playground maintenance, horticulture maintenance, athletic field maintenance, forestry, snow removal, and recreation support activities. During the winter season, this position’s primary job duties are snow and ice removal.  As the weather improves in the spring, the duties will change to focus on other landscaping and maintenance tasks.  This is a hands-on position with a majority of time to be spent working in the field. The Park Maintenance Worker I is on-call as needed. This is an at-will position.
