When it comes to Madness in Streamwood, July just became the new March.

To celebrate NRPA‘s Parks & Recreation Month this July, the Streamwood Park District is proud to roll out Parks & Rec Madness – a social-media-driven bracket tournament pitting 32 parks versus 32 recreational amenities, where the winners are selected by you – the voting public – round-by-round until a champion is crowned!

The Madness begins Tuesday, July 5 when we unveil the brackets and our field of 64 “teams” vying for the title.

Then first round voting action tips off on the Streamwood Park District’s Facebook page, where voters can pull for all their parks and rec favorites and help lead their squads to victory. Round 1 voting concludes at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8.

Voting is as simple as 1…2…3 points!

  • Like or follow the Streamwood Park District’s Facebook page.
  • React (like, love, etc.) to all your favorite parks and recreational amenities photos in the Round 1 Team Photo Gallery.
  • Encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same. After all, it takes good teamwork to win!

At the end of the round, the winning teams in each match-up will advance to face their next opponent in their bracket region in the next round. The losing teams get a juice box and a participation trophy. 😉

Below is the round-by-round Parks & Rec Madness voting schedule:

Round 1: July 5-8
Round 2: July 12-14
Super 16 (Round 3): July 18-19
Supreme 8 (Round 4): July 21-22
