Challenge Course Closed Indefinitely

JULY 8, 2024 – Due to an incident over the July 4th holiday weekend, the challenge course at Commissioners’ Park, 81 Linda Lane, was damaged and is closed indefinitely. No timetable has been given as to when the challenge course will be repaired and reopened. The playground, courts, fields, gazebo and other amenities at Commissioners’ Park were unaffected and remain open to the public.

Discover Commissioners’ Park

Commissioners’ Park sits on 21.5 acres of land, located at 81 Linda Lane.

Once known as Aquarius Park, Commissioners’ Park is a newly renovated, state-of-the-art park! Renovated in 2020, this park offers a sprawling landscape with a wide variety of amenities and recreation opportunities for people of all ages!

Commissioners’ Park offers a plethora of athletic courts/fields including a basketball court, football field, futsal courts, and tennis courts. The playground features three different play structures and multiple types of swings.

Another unique feature is the Challenge Course! The Challenge Course is a ninja-warrior-esque form of obstacle course fitness that challenges your agility, strength, and determination. Other amenities include a gazebo, a walking/bike pathway with educational nature signage, and public restrooms. 

Commissioners’ Park complies with the ADA Standards for Accessible Design. 

What’s In A Name?

Commissioners’ Park is dedicated to all the past, present, and future members who serve on the Streamwood Park District’s Commissioners Board. Members of the Board of Commissioners are elected to a four-year term and serve without compensation.

2023-2024 RENTAL GUIDE

In 2019, the Streamwood Park District was awarded a $400,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant (OSLAD) from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The OSLAD Grant was awarded for a park renovation at Commissioners’ Park. Construction began May 16, 2020, and celebrated a grand opening in August of 2021.
