On Wednesday, April 30, Streamwood Park District had the privilege of hosting seven students from Streamwood High School for Student Government Day.
The students got the opportunity to tour multiple Park District facilities and learn many different aspects of Parks and Recreation. This included planning craft activities with our Building Block Preschool kids at Park Place Family Recreation Center, participating in a Zumba class, shooting hoops in the Mark Bell Gymnasium, learning about painting field lines and playground maintenance at Commissioners Park and Butterfly Park, and even helping plan a wedding with our Hoosier Grove Barn staff.
Thanks to the Streamwood students for joining us and to our Streamwood Park District team for being such gracious hosts. Special thanks to Sarah Porter and Mallory Lorence for organizing and leading the day’s activities with the students.
