Breast Cancer Awareness Wellness Fair

Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Streamwood Park District at our Breast Cancer Awareness Wellness Fair from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 inside the Mark Bell Gymnasium at Park Place Family Recreation Center, 550 S. Park Blvd.

Join us for an evening of wellness, awareness, and community support as we come together in the fight against breast cancer.

Event highlights include:

• Health care professionals & crisis counseling organizations
• Fitness instructor demonstrations
• Delicious food & refreshments
• Live music by Norita.

• Special guests from the Magnolia Tree Foundation

Let’s stand In The Fight Together and make this a night of hope, strength, and connection! The event is FREE and open to the public.

Health and wellness vendor applications are now being accepted. Vendor tables are $30 for an 8′ x 8′ space. Health and wellness vendor spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of three alike vendors per category. To apply, visit our online vendor application. Marshmallow Moon Sound Bath

Join us for Marshmallow Moon Sound Bath – a serene and symbolic evening as we honor the rhythm of autumn – on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hoosier Grove Barn, 700 W. Irving Park Rd.

You’ll be gently guided into a dreamy visualization where you become the leaf- weightless, untethered and carried on the wind – exploring the art of letting go and going with the flow. As nature releases and transforms, so too can you. This immersive evening blends guided narration with layered ambient sound, projected visuals, and a deeply relaxing live sound bath featuring crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gong.

Cost is $35 per person. Please bring a mat, a pillow, and blanket and/or anything else you may need to make sure you are comfortable and able to relax. If lying on the floor is not comfortable for you, feel free to bring a chair (anti-gravity chairs are fantastic!)

Movie in the Park: Hocus Pocus

Irving Park Rd., 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 for our final FREE Movies in the Park of the year where we will be screening the classic flick Hocus Pocus. Carmel apples, cider and other Halloween treats will be available for purchase. Wear your best costume for a hauntingly-good costume contest.
