Hoosier Grove Park, 700 W. Irving Park Road, has been a gathering place for the Streamwood community for generations, and some of its features are ready for a refresh. Starting in 2026, with support from an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the State of Illinois, we are beginning a major redevelopment to make the park safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone who visits.
What’s coming:
- New playground. Modern, inclusive equipment replacing the 1993 playground, with poured-in-place rubber surfacing for safer play.
- Better pathways. Paths relocated, widened, and extended to connect with the Village trail system for easier walking and biking.
- Upgraded sports fields. New dugouts and fencing at the ballfield, plus regraded soccer fields built for soccer, lacrosse, flag football, and more.
- Farmstead improvements. New concrete walkways, better drainage, and fresh outdoor lighting around the historic Farmstead.
- A refreshed gazebo. The 30-year-old gazebo will be renovated so it can keep hosting gatherings for years to come.
- Finishing touches. A new marquee sign, a volleyball court curb, replacement Salt Barn fencing, and new trees and native plantings.
Construction is underway with completion estimated for summer 2027, weather permitting. We’ll do our best to keep disruptions to a minimum and we appreciate your patience while the work is underway.
