Let’s shine the Earth Month spotlight on our Facilities team, who replaced many of the lights and light fixtures this week in Park Place Family Recreation Center in partnership with RUSH Physical Therapy with more energy-efficient lighting.

Per ComEd, this conversion should equate to approximately $25,000 per year in energy cost savings, which the Park District can reinvest into other areas.

Additionally, the solar panel installation on the roof of Community Center, 777 S. Bartlett Rd., was completed in December. Once the Community Center reopens following the scheduled renovations from April-October 2023, the solar panels will provide additional energy cost savings to the Park District as well.
