THUNDER & LIGHTNING SAFETY
Severe Weather Prediction Signal
THOR GUARD LIGHTNING PREDICTION & WARNING SYSTEM
Know what to do during severe weather when visiting one of our parks and/or participating in an athletic game.

If you hear one long 15-second blast, seek shelter. Shelter yourself until you hear the all clear signal.

If you hear three short blasts, the area is all clear. You may resume your activities.

If you hear no sound but see lightning or hear thunder, seek shelter.

In an event of a thunderstorm…
- Seek shelter indoors. Find a sturdy building or hardtop vehicle with the windows closed.
- If no indoor shelters, find a low spot away from trees, fences, and poles.
- Stay away from water and water fountains.
- Stay away from metal such as chain-link fences and metal-constructed bleachers.

In an event of a thunderstorm…
- Do not seek shelter in small sheds, dugouts, underneath trees, or on high ground.
- Do not seek shelter in a place that is subject to flooding.
- Only use a telephone in case of an emergency.
